You did all that work and I'm guessing you didn't bother to replace the upper and lower radiator hoses? The lower radiator hose has a tendency to collapse under high heat. The result of that being the coolant flow between the radiator and the motor is blocked and thus car overheats. As the car ages and the miles rack up, the structure of the hose weakens and causes the collapse of the hose at a faster rate. You might want to consider this possibility before tearing your motor down for the head gaskets. Besides, if the hose doesn't fix the problem, it's a damn good idea to replace it anyway. Just a thought.
